The Koffee With Karan episode with Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone is one I was looking forward to for a very long time, since we know they are both interesting girls whose life – and love – stories have been fodder for gossip for a while now. While it was very clear that these two leading ladies were guarded with their answers – perhaps having learnt from previous appearances on the show – they still divulged some juicy tidbits. In case you missed the episode, read on for the best parts!
1. Anushka doesn’t like Deepika?
There have been reports in the media that Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone have gotten over whatever issue they had between them (Ranveer Singh, supposedly). However, the way Karan handled the question on this episode showed that that may have not been the case, at least on Anushka’s end. While Deepika claims that she has no problem with anyone, Karan told her, “You’ve been friendly with Anushka? Sorry, I nearly choked.” Which prompted Deepika to say that she is friendly with her, at least in her head, unless she’s been living in a bubble. Karan’s response? “I think you are. If you think you’re Anushka Sharma’s friend, then you’re definitely living in a bubble.” The result was a flabbergasted Deepika Padukone.
2. Karan tried to get Deepika and Katrina on the episode together
This wasn’t explicitly stated, but that’s the impression I got. Deepika said that while she is better friends with Priyanka, she would have still been willing to come on the show with any one else. Karan said, “I do know that. I actually asked you, and you had said yes, but sometimes it’s not easy to get the perfect combination.” Who that other person is is anyone’s guess, but my first thought was Katrina Kaif. Because it would make sense – there’s the Ranbir connection – and, well, it just sounds like something Karan would do for a little drama. :)

3. Deepika is scared to invest in a relationship
When asked why she won’t admit to being in a relationship now, even after she opened up about Ranbir in the past, this is what Deepika said: “I think that was a stage in my life where I genuinely believed that I had fallen in love. I thought it was a relationship that would go beyond just dating. For whatever reason, we weren’t compatible, it didn’t work out. And since then I’m very, very scared to invest emotionally in a relationship. I don’t know how to just casually date, I don’t know how to be in this in-between dating but not committing. I don’t know that space. I think I want to be very, very sure before I’m ready to commit.”
4. Ranbir and Deepika are clear on their equation
As for whether any current boyfriend would feel insecure about Ranbir, this is all Deepika had to say: “My equation with Ranbir is very clear. The best part is that we’re very clear about where we are in our lives today. So there’s no reason for anyone in his life or anyone in my life to be concerned or insecure about our equation.”

5. Shahid and Priyanka were dating
I mean, we all knew this, but this is the most official confirmation we’ll probably get. The two were on an episode last season, but refused to confirm that they were dating. Now, however, it seems like PC is okay to imply so, since the relationship is over. Karan said she’s banged into exes a few times before, and asked whether she talks to Shahid now. PC said, “Yeah. We’re actually alright. The last time we met was before his last film released. At his house, when you and I had gone together. We’re friends. We’re absolutely cool.”
Although later, during the quiz round, when Priyanka couldn’t name which film was Shahid’s debut, Karan commented: “What kind of girlfriend were you?” To which Priyanka said, “Who said I was?” At that point Deepika started laughing and said, “At the end of the episode you’re saying ‘Who said I was?’ after answering everything.” (Our thoughts exactly.) Karan, meanwhile, laughed it off with: “How can you deny Shahid Kapoor just because you’re losing the quiz?”

6. Deepika will remove the Ranbir tattoo soon
When asked what happened to her RK tattoo, Deepika said, “It’s still there, Karan. I don’t even think about it anymore. It should come off, at some point.”
7. Deepika isn’t too happy about Kareena’s comments
Kareena was initially offered Ram-Leela; however, she ended up picking Gori Tere Pyaar Mein over it. In an interview after Ram-Leela‘s success, Kareena had said, “There are no regrets. I’ve missed the chance, but there will be a next time. I’m the only actress who can boast of giving films to other actresses.” Which is why, when asked what Kareena should do if she weren’t an actress, Deepika said, “Start a charity.” The comment was confusing at first since there was no context, but during the next question, it became obvious. Karan asked her which film she regrets passing on, then commented that in fact Deepika gets roles that other actresses pass on. Deepika gave a small smile and said, “That’s why I spoke about charity.” And then that lightbulb over KJo’s head lit. :)

8. Priyanka has been hit on by a lady
Surprisingly, when Karan asked whether any of them have had a lesbian encounter, Priyanka said yes. Although later she commented that she has been “propositioned,” which does not equal an encounter. Still, it’s interesting to know, and I think we all laughed when Deepika asked Karan why he was rubbing his knee while asking the question.
